Oh yeah, I should add that to the list of things I tried. Tried it a few times. No luck. Thanks for bringing that up though!

Ah, good to add to the list of things to check. Thanks!

Do your best to hold the dealer accountable. These dealers thrive on good reviews. They don't want any negative feedback.

Also, My Toyota Experience, 800-331-4331, can be helpful...

If the dealer wont honor the warranty, let them know you'll be in touch with Corporate.

Hope you get it resolved.

Thanks for the tip! Just dropped it off to the dealership in Sunnyvale, CA. I've had them work on stuff before, so let's see how it goes. Good time for that airbag recall too.

Dealer chased down the wiring and signals and found some of the wires for the front differential actuator cut somehow. Wtf?!?!? They're going to solder and reconnect them again and check again.

Circling back with the group. I'm $600 lighter in the wallet, but the problem seems to be fixed. Here's a summary from the dealer...

nice update!

well Toyota Surprise just called me
They told me that my issue is actually the front differential actuator and it has gone bad.
The told me that it is also covered under the powertrain warranty.

The part will not be in until Thursday so we will find out more then but if that is the case, then Autonation Toyota did 100% misdiagnose the issue to be the master solenoid and also was going to charge me $2000 to not fix the issue.

fingers crossed!

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I wanted to chime in since this thread helped me. I have a 11 TE with 90K miles. Putting it into 4x4 High/Lo did not work/would not engage, and the lights flashed on the dash as mentioned in this thread. I wanted to say that it was also my A.D.D (Part # 41400 35032) which had failed.

The mechanic informed me that it is common amongst FJ's but he see's them on T4R's on occasion.

Thank you all for helping.

Its a rare occurrence but it happens.
